Artists North art bannor

“Artists North is organized as a State of Michigan non-profit corporation serving as a public charity under the provisions and limitations described in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Federal Internal Revenue Code for the purpose of expanding arts education by providing the public with opportunities for hands-on experiences in creating works of art that are inspired by direct connections with primary sources.

Additionally, toward meeting the challenges of its mission, Artists North will create, promote, and sponsor collaborations between and among educational institutions, governmental agencies, and Northern Michigan for-profit as well as non-profit organizations involved in educating artists in the skills essential to success within their chosen art forms as well as success in the conduct of the “business” of the arts.”

Our mission statement provides for the education of local artists in a variety of ways. The primary education is connecting artists with primary sources. These primary sources are other artists skilled in their respective fields. We work to connect more experienced artists with newer artists to improve the quality of art overall.

Secondly, we connect artists to other non-art educators such as accountants, businesspersons, marketing managers, and branding experts. In general artists struggle in these areas and have a hard time marketing and selling their work. To improve the community of the arts in Northern Michigan we have to help these small business owners connect with the public and sell their wares.

We plan on identifying spaces throughout our community for artists to work.

When we advertise together, we achieve more.

As artist members of Artists North you and your business get a listing on our website business directory. Your membership fees will also be applied to marketing campaigns and advertising which will direct people to this site to search out your artistic wares.

Through raised capital and membership we plan on establishing grants and funding for less advantaged artists to develop their art-form as well as to attend educational opportunities offered through our programming as well as other organizations.
